Be genuine
Use your own name and photos, describe your intentions honestly, and respect whether someone wants a partner, a group, or both. Do not impersonate a person or organization or create duplicate accounts to avoid a block.
Respect consent
A connection is an invitation to talk, not permission to pressure someone. Accept “no,” silence, changed plans and boundaries immediately. Do not send sexual, threatening, hateful or harassing content, or unwanted repeated messages.
Protect privacy
Do not post another person’s phone number, address, photos, screenshots of private chats or event location without permission. Do not ask for passwords, one-time codes, financial details or money from other members.
Keep plans safer
Choose a public Garba event for a first meeting, tell a trusted person your plan, and arrange your own travel. Do not misrepresent an event, pressure someone to leave a public venue, or continue a conversation after being blocked.
